Digital trends of 2011: Sure bets to shape up 2012

There have been speculations around the digital trends of 2012, which of course will be an offshoot of 2011 trends. Some might go ahead and speculate that mutability and interactivity between gizmos and escalation of social sharing upon networks would be the hay day.

Social Media and Customers

If we talk about social media, we find that more and more people are engrossed in social networks. They want to know what customers think of their product and are more cautious of their brand image. Consumers are more educated that before, they are enjoying the power of social media consequent upon which the companies have become more watchful to save their market pie.

This new tool of social media has bisected the power of intermediaries. If companies are keeping the details – like reviews, new product launches, satisfactory customer care services – open for their customers’ probability is high that they might re-visit the site repeatedly.

As per The Mobile Movement in April 2011 Google asserted that nearly seventy percent of smartphone clients employ their device as they shop around in marketplace.

Social Media and Employees

Social media not only assist the customers to get in line with the company’s goals and objectives but it also helps in keeping the office employees in loop with each milestone touched.

Social Media and Masses

There is a ‘wow’ factor amongst the masses who happens to interact with themselves through the social networks. Each individual is a brand ambassador of the network they are into.

Frictionless sharing across gizmos has made the life more comfortable. Although some segment is of the view that the compatibility among the devices has crossed the threshold of intrusiveness but for some it is a masterstroke.

Multitasking of phones

Multitasking of cell phones too might increase. Today it is not just a gizmo responsible for receiving calls, sending sms, checking emails rather its role has increase extensively.

With the emerging app stores across both the OS, we find there’s hardly any area left untouched by the gizmos. This has also lead to redundancy, I mean users are consuming info at a fast pace and hence the shelf life of info is becoming less. This holds true especially with the case of networks across social media.

Whatever said and done, one thing is for sure, the wave of social media has drenched majority of the people across various segments and time will only tell how far will be the wave of the trend go.
